BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) with iTunes 8 and Windows Vista
Friday, September 12th, 2008Just updated my iPhone 3G with the new 2.1 firmware and installed iTunes 8 on my Sony VAIO laptop, I have this Sony VAIO for 6 months and this is the first time I see a Blue Screen of Death just after the first iPhone sync with this new firmware.
The truth is that there is a compatibility problem with the new iTunes version, but Apple has released a revised version that solves the problem, you can download it here.
First, disconnect your iPod/iPhone from your PC, then uninstall iTunes 8 and Apple Mobile Device and then, reinstall the recently downloaded iTunes from Apple.
It seems that the problem is caused by a new driver that Apple has replaced with the old iTunes 7.7 version.
