“The Hunt for Gollum”, a fan-made superb production

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Just discovered this project, a fan-made short movie inspired in The Lord of the Rings

As they say…

The Hunt For Gollum is an unofficial not for profit short film by a group of enthusiast filmmakers. As a Lord of the Rings Fan Film, we are not affiliated with the Tolkien Estate or New Line Cinema and are producing this project as an entirely non commercial film. As with other fan films we are making this purely for the enjoyment of the material and the experience of making a high quality low budget film.

About the quality, well, start by watching this trailer:

fryrender SWAP, change materials in real-time

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

More than once your client asks you to continuously make changes in a scene, either an architectural render or mechanical visualization, then you need to make changes and… render again!

Here is the new solution from the fryrender guys, the new fryrender SWAP product allows you to render a scene using fryrender, save it in a special format, and you’ll always be able to change materials in real time without the need to render the entire scene again, so it’s a great time saver.
