When was the last time you heard something new about Marcos Fajardo Arnold Renderer? 2002, 2003? I was always AMAZED by this engine, and I could never get it to try :(

Well, here is a new comparison between Arnold and Mentalray, who has been apparently developed by Sony Pictures Imageworks for the last years.

And the "looser" is... Windows Vista!

3dspeedmachine.com has done a speed comparison between the three most famous 3D packages available: 3dsMax, Maya and Softimage XSI

They made some tests with Windows Vista and Windows XP (both 64bit) with different amount of geometry and the main problem detected is that the same machine with the same application, runs slower in Vista.

You can also see that XSI seems to be the fastest!
